The Game Changers: A New Game In Town, Part 2

Sometimes a game is important less for its design innovation than for its theme and the constituency it brings into the hobby. At the beginning of the 2010’s party games like Cards Against Humanity and social deduction games like The Resistance helped make thousands of new Tabletop fans. At the close of the decade, Wingspan did the same in very different ways. And its designer represented a newly-emboldened breed of designer and player who wasn’t afraid of questioning the norms of Tabletop culture.
