This year’s contest is an acrostic puzzle. The first step is to answer as many of the clues below the grid as possible. Transfer each letter into the same-numbered space in the grid. As the grid fills up, a message will gradually emerge, and you’ll be able to complete words in the grid which will enable you to transfer letters back into unsolved clues. Working back and forth, you’ll be able to complete the grid’s message, which will instruct you what to do next to find the answer to the contest.
Unfortunately the ancient software I used to construct the puzzle did not allow for interactivity, so you’ll probably need to download a PDF of the puzzle by clicking here.
Email the answer to the contest, along with a copy (electronic or scanned) of your answer, to dailyworkerplacement@gmail.com by 9 pm next Wednesday, July 7. One correct answer will be picked at random and be sent a copy of Deckscape: Mystery of Eldorado from dV Giochi. Alas, because of postage costs only entrants from North America are eligible to win–but feel free to enter just for the honour and glory of solving.
Enjoy!
